What is the Process and Timeline?

Resume Writing

Building your new Resume requires effective information gathering and collaboration for an end-product that feels genuine and authentic. The client intake process helps to gather information on important variables like your desired job title and industry. The intake process consists of an introductory questionnaire and a telephone call.

After completion of the intake process, your first drafts are prepared and uploaded into the client portal within 5 business days. You may request 30 days of draft revisions to ensure full satisfaction. Final documents are prepared in both MS Word and PDF along with additional information and resources to make the most of your new Resume.

We pledge to deliver on the following timelines:

First drafts delivered in 5 business days (after completion of intake process)
All draft revisions delivered in 3 business days (per each round)

In general, the Resume Writing process typically lasts from 10 to 30 business days (start to finish). This timeline takes into consideration completion of the introductory questionnaire, telephone intake call, first draft development, draft revisions (up to 30 days), and preparation of final proofed copies.

LinkedIn Optimization

LinkedIn Optimization begins upon completion of the Resume Writing process. This service is comprised of two parts: (1) developing the content for your LinkedIn profile (2) performing the actual live profile updates.

Developing the content for your LinkedIn profile means preparing custom descriptions for each component of your LinkedIn profile including the introductory summary, work history, projects, education, certifications, organizations, and much more.

Similar to the Resume Writing process, unlimited revisions allow for refinements and improvements to the proposed content before it goes live on your LinkedIn profile. Resume Distribution

Resume Distribution is the final step after your Resume and LinkedIn are completed.

Your new Resume and an accompanying Recruiter Letter are emailed to a network of 500+ recipients at staffing and search firms (or PE / VC firms). After sendoff, you receive an MS Excel spreadsheet with a list of all the recipients and their contact information. Please see the Resume Distribution FAQs on this page for more information.

Can We Do a Phone Call?

Yes, an in-depth phone consultation with Doug Levin is a standard part of the intake process. This discreet and confidential phone call is beneficial to the Resume Writing process for familiarizing with your background and fleshing out your objectives (occupation, industry, and seniority level).

Upon first draft delivery, document revisions are typically handled through written correspondence, although phone calls are happily arranged upon request.

How Do Unlimited Revisions Work?

Unlimited Revisions allow for edits, revisions, and questions for a period of 30-days after receiving your first drafts.

We do our very best to develop flawless documents on the first try. Your input is helpful in building documents that are properly aligned with your goals. Constructive feedback and helpful comments and questions are welcomed and encouraged.

The process for making revisions typically involves downloading the document in MS Word and using track changes / comments to make markups, then uploading your revised draft into the secure and confidential client portal. Although written revisions tend to be most productive, phone call requests are happily accommodated too.

Unlimited Revisions is for refining and fine tuning the master version of your Resume. If you have multiple targets, please consider adding 2nd Focus Resume to your order for the development of a secondary version.

We aim to provide timely and thorough responses. Please allow up to three business days turnaround time for each set of draft revisions.

How Will My New Resume Look?

Building a visually-appealing and ATS-friendly Resume is the key to success in today’s modern hiring environment. Your document must capture a human’s interest while also satisfying the requirements of applicant tracking systems.

To that end, we maintain a small collection of carefully crafted formats that meet these standards. We normally select a format on behalf of each customer. Customers may also browse our collection and select their desired format (if preferred).

Generally speaking, most private-sector Resumes are one or two-page documents (depending on your experience level) prepared in MS Word.

What if I Have Multiple Targets?

Sometimes building one ‘master version’ that satisfies multiple targets is best.

Imagine you’re targeting Project Manager jobs as well as Program Manager jobs. Since these titles are similar, we’ll create one ‘master version’ that works for both targets.

However, now imagine you’re targeting Project Manager jobs as well as Business Development Manager jobs. Since these aren’t so similar, you’re going to need two different versions (one for each focus).

In cases like this, we offer 2nd Focus Resume when multiple versions are needed.

Is Gold for Federal Jobs?

No. This service is meant for targeting private-sector job opportunities.

How Does Rush Work?

First drafts are normally delivered within five business days. Adding rush service means first drafts are delivered within two business days. We also respond to all draft revisions within one business day (normally three business days).
